it is is a lovely Summer day

you are finishing up with the garden

i have leveled the lawn grass

the heat has brought us to this point

time for the shelter of shade

ice tea will be served

with a light snack

it was a wonderful breakfast

you can hide more vegetables

in delicious dishes than any woman
i have ever known or ever wanted to 

never neglect my need for meat

biscuits, pancakes, croissants
the cornucopia of bread you serve 

sitting now in the shade

looking out at our combined endeavors

sipping tea, morning has given way

to the early afternoon

looking across the table at you

there is no sentence existing

which could express the gratitude

my heart holds now

lost in your face
