i greet her at the door with a request
tonight i want to sit you down

it is not the usual i love you

or i adore you

just a simple take your hand

look into your eyes

say, thank you

while the list is certainly long

there is no need for that

usually done with each act

you perform in our lives

just a simple, thank you

followed by a light kiss

placed upon your forehead

acknowledging all the preciousness within

and then we can sit down for dinner

tell me how your day went

possibly doing something this weekend

an upcoming event i always forget

it could be time to remind me

i am very appreciative of that

so blessed i am in someone

who understands creativity can be

shall we say absent-minded

but not so much

i have already worked into the scenario

now, i must start dinner
