in the land of the morning star

i have a moment before it all begins

a silent prayer of my gratefulness

for everything we are

i will soon be bringing her coffee

sit it on the nightstand

she will pull me to her lips

our day has begun

if i am ever asked what is the key

to a successful relationship

it is the four pillars

gratitude, happiness, understanding

and the honesty to speak

what truly lives in your heart

the cats know i am awake

sit upon my chest with that look

their bowls are empty probably

another key to success

dote on all of them equally
