the many adventures of shopping with her
those times i catch her unaware
she is in deep thought of some choice
i swoop in as a pelican
beak to its widest stretch
scooping her into my arms
i crush her lips in a wanton frenzy
times as these must be kept to a rarity
you never want love to be commonplace
or the time holding a shallot and red onion
is this mother and baby i ask
that look, i know this setup
recedes into a smile, but he is mine
those stop shopping moments
i forgot, run back and retrieve
if there is anything special about us
in life, we are hand to hand
we share the tasks but more so
we make them joyous
and our solitary forays
fill the needs and wants of the other
what life is all about
the dedication to the other half of your soul
